The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips took a tumble competing in a polo match, in her first public appearance since she revealed the devastating news that she has suffered a miscarriage.
Talented equestrian Zara fell half way through the Magic Millions Polo match on Australia’s Gold Coast. However, she got straight back on her horse and got back on with the game. In a loudspeaker announcement, her proud husband Mike Tindall joked: “She’s tough, she bounces”. He said that she had such a will to win, she would not let a fall put her off. While Zara has only recently suffered a miscarriage, she was understood to be keen to ride in the polo event.
It was the couple’s first appearance at an event together since they announced their heartbreaking news. The pair are clearly proving to be each other’s rock to get through their personal tragedy. They were seen holding hands while attending the event in Queensland.
Before changing into her riding gear, Zara wore a stylish white lace shirt dress, which she teamed with nude flats and a maroon clutch bag. The down to earth mum of one kept her make up casual. Her husband, meanwhile, donned dark shorts and a blue and white shirt, with loafers.
The couple looked to be enjoying each other’s company despite their recent troubles. While Zara is a patron of Magic Millions Racing Women, Mike is a Magic Millions ambassador. A spokesperson for the sixteenth in line to the throne issued a statement last month saying that the couple had lost their second child.
It is understood that Zara was four months pregnant at the time. They are already parens to Mia, two. It is believed that the couple, who met each other in Australia in 2003, spent Christmas with other senior members of the royal family at the Queen’s Sandringham estate.
