The dossier that is causing so much disarray in the Republican Party at the moment, especially for Donald Trump appears to have been written by a British ex-spy, and handed over by an ambassador.

An American Newspaper has named the ex-MI6 agent accusing him of being the source of the dossier.  The dossier was packed full of information on lewd sex acts and other personal and financial information.  The allegation that the file was put together by Russia to blackmail the president-elect now seems completely false.

The briefing is apparently littered with mistakes and talks about Trump paying prostitutes to perform degrading sex acts on the bed slept in by President Obama when on a state visit.

British Prime Minister, Theresa May has come under pressure to talk to Donald Trump to reassure that this was not a British government ordered move.

This could not have happened at a worse time for Theresa May as she prepares for trade discussions with America to secure a post – Brexit deal.

A Downing Street spokeswoman said the government was “not aware” of the allegations and that no further comment would be made.

The Daily Mail reports that the ex-MI6 man was hired by enemies of Donald Trump to do a “general” trawl on his links with Russia.

The report itself contains spelling mistakes and fake information according to critics.  It has made inaccurate references to areas of Moscow you would expect an expert to get right and there is no evidence to backup the claims.

Carl Bernstein, the Watergate reporter that wrote the first story on the dossier, told CNN, “It came from a former British MI6 agent who was hired from a political opposition research firm in Washington who was doing work about Donald Trump for both republican and democratic candidates opposed to Trump.”

If true and the dossier was the work of an ex-MI6 agent, then the ramifications will be far reaching.
