  • SSU Groups Create Fundraiser Through International Fashion Show

    Salem State University’s Spanish Club and sorority Fi Sigma Yoda collaborated to organize a fundraiser by holding an international fashion show March 23 sponsored by Quincy Fashion. The event was held in the Marsh Hall cafeteria. The two groups have raised $618 so far, which goes towards a scholarship that will be given away to a SSU student. 1 comment

    A sea of around 15 to 20 Salem State University students flooded the lounge of Ellison Campus Center last week, waiting eagerly to purchase a ticket for the annual Raspberry Swirl. What is Raspberry Swirl, you might ask? It’s held each spring on campus, and it’s a night when gender, sexuality, and everything you once knew about everything around you is shaken, not stirred, then is beaten, smashed, and served up in a ball of fierceness.

    On April 6, I went to an event that was part of the Writers’ Series at Salem State University. Anis Mojgani, a two-time National Poetry Slam Champion, came to SSU to give a performance of his poetry. Mojgani has been featured on HBO and National Public Radio (NPR), and is a National Book Award Nominee.
