One day after giving birth to twins a mother died of heart failure. She had previously beat cervical cancer twice, including once while pregnant.

Beating cancer while pregnant:

On March 16, Jamie Snider, of Fresno, California, gave birth to twins Camila and Nico. She also has two older daughters.

According to KTVU in Oakland, Snider was going through chemotherapy during the pregnancy to battle an advanced form of cervical cancer that had returned.

Snider had previously battled the cancer and lost one ovary in the process. According to her brother, Chris Snider, she learned the cancer had returned while she was pregnant and did what she could to fight it

Chris Snider told KGO-TV in San Francisco: “They couldn’t give her too much chemo because it would affect the development of the babies. She made sure, she made sure those babies would live. She traded her life.”

Just before giving birth via C-section, the doctors told her she had beat cancer a second time.

The babies were healthy despite being born prematurely at 33 weeks and weighed only about 3½ pounds, according to “Inside Edition,” Snider was a proud mother.

Snider then had a radical hysterectomy to remove any remaining cervical cancer, to try ensuring she would have a long life with her family.

A sad ending for the family:

But sadly, one day after giving birth and having the surgery, Snider passed away not of cancer but of heart failure

Her friend Larina Campanile told KGO-TV: “What gives me peace in my heart is she got to see those babies and hold them and be with them a little bit,”

According to The Fresno Bee, the twins have been released from the hospital, they’re with members of Snider’s family in the Fresno area until they’re strong enough to travel to New Hampshire with their father and older sisters.

On March 30, a memorial service will be held. To help with expenses, help for the family and the memorial service, three GoFundMe accounts have been set up.
