Michael Dunn, 57, previously convicted of paedophile charges has been found guilty of sexually abusing four victims that have been described as almost powerless.  One victim, a school girl he buried in a wall cavity hidden behind a fridge.

The court was told that the four victims were abused over a period of 50 years.  He made the wall cavity in case the police entered his house to look for her.

Teeside Crown Court situated in north east England was told how Dunn would groom young girls effectively turning them into slaves.

Grooming Young Girls

He was described as being short – tempered and paranoid.

By all accounts, he would attract the girls by coming across as caring and offer them alcohol and cigarettes.  Then later, once he had earned their trust he would demand sexual gratification from them.

After raping one girl he told her that is what boyfriends and girlfriends do.

In total, he was found of 10 charges of rape, three indecent assault, and three charges of false imprisonment.

The court was told that one of his victims challenged him over the abuse.  He said that he would prosecute her for slander.  One of his victims tried to take her own life.

Prosecutor Richard Bennett said that Dunn was violent and controlling and that he would become aggressive if his victims did not succumb to his sexual demands.

Police Investigation

The police investigation was made complex as it spanned several locations and stretched for many years.  A spokesman said, “Essentially Dunn groomed several women and young girls, in some cases making them completely dependent on him, and carrying out sexual offences against all of them.

“Some of the victims were kept in line through Dunn’s extreme violence or even through the fear of brutal beatings and he had complete and absolute control over their lives. He ensured he and his victims evaded the authorities while he continued to abuse and control the women.”

Dunn will be sentenced at an unfixed date.
