Activision Blizzard Inc.’s (NASDAQ:ATVI) Destiny: The Taken King has been one of the most talked about games in the past two years. The game, although falling short of the expectations of many out there, has managed to stay relevant throughout the year thanks to its engaging end-game activities such as the Trials of Osiris, the raids that Bungie has released over time and the latest expansion The Taken King expansion pack. The latest raid, the King’s Fall, has been one of the most challenging one so far. Hence, it comes as a surprise that the raid’s final challenge mode boss, Oryx, has been taken down by a 3-man fireteam.

For those who are unaware, Challenge mode was released by Bungie a while ago with an additional challenge required to earn yourself guaranteed 320 light level loot drops. The Oryx challenge required players to stack up all of the corrupted light orbs together and then detonating them in one go, thereby bringing Oryx’s health down to 0 from 100 in one go. This daunting task seemed impossible, even for a fireteam of 6 people but looks like it has been completed by a fireteam of three.

Over at Reddit, the popular Destiny player by the name of TheGreatGatsby, recently posted POVs of him and two other players in his fireteam where they managed to complete the Oryx challenge with just three players. The strategy implemented to complete this task was to use two blind spots for the light eater knights and that is where they aggravated the Ogres towards, killing them to spawn the corrupted light Orbs there. Since the two points in the map were blind spots, the Vessel of Oryx and the light eater knights would not go near them and this eased the whole process. The group then used the regular Sleeper Stimulant strategy to get done with the whole raid.

Now, this is by no means easy and requires a lot of coordination and skill. But, unlike soloing Oryx, this strategy requires a lot of skill than luck and also does not heavily rely on ammo drops. Nevertheless, the videos posted over at the Reddit thread show an amazing feat that has been achieved by the team and their effort is commendable to say the very least.
